💡 Fast works instantly on any image size. AI reconstructs real detail but downloads a ~10 MB model on first use and works best on images under 1400×1400 px.

🔒 100% private — your files never leave your device. All processing happens right in your browser.

How to Use the Image Upscaler

Four simple steps — no account, no software install, no waiting.

Add your image

Drop a JPG, PNG or WebP — or several at once for batch upscaling.

Pick engine and scale

Fast mode for instant results at any size; AI mode when you want genuine detail reconstruction. Choose 2×–8×.

Upscale

Fast mode finishes in a moment. AI mode processes the image in patches and shows live progress.

Download

Save each result individually, or grab the whole batch as one ZIP.

Why Use Our Image Upscaler?

Instant Fast Mode

Progressive multi-step scaling plus an unsharp mask — the same technique professional editors use, with none of the waiting.

🤖

Real AI Option

An ESRGAN super-resolution model runs right in your browser, reconstructing edges and texture that simple scaling can't recover.

Batch Upscaling

Drop a whole folder of images and enlarge them all in one run, each with its own download button.

Nothing Uploaded

Both engines run entirely on your device. Unlike AI upscaling websites, your photos are never sent to a server.

Two Engines, One Tool — Pick What You Need

Every image upscaler faces the same fundamental problem: enlarging a picture means inventing pixels that were never captured. There are two honest ways to do that, and this tool gives you both.

  • ⚡ Fast mode uses progressive multi-step interpolation followed by an unsharp mask. It scales in repeated 2× passes (which produces visibly cleaner edges than a single big jump) and then restores the crispness that any interpolation softens. It's instant, works at any resolution, and needs zero downloads.
  • 🤖 AI mode runs an ESRGAN super-resolution neural network directly in your browser. Instead of interpolating, the model predicts what the missing detail should look like based on millions of training examples — recovering sharp edges, texture and structure that no amount of classical scaling can produce.

What Upscaling Can and Cannot Do

It's worth being straight about this, because plenty of "AI upscaler" sites are not. Upscaling cannot recover information that was never recorded — a blurry, out-of-focus photo stays blurry, and heavily compressed JPEG artifacts often get more visible when enlarged. What upscaling does well is make a small but sharp image usable at a larger size: a 400px product photo that needs to be 1600px, an old avatar, a low-resolution scan, a logo that only exists as a small PNG.

For the best possible result, start from the highest-quality source you have. If your image is already compressed, avoid re-compressing it further — and consider running the upscaled output through our image compressor only at the very end.

Popular Uses

  • Print preparation — a web-sized image needs far more pixels to print sharply at 300 DPI.
  • Old photos & scans — low-resolution digital camera shots and scanned prints benefit enormously from AI mode.
  • Product listings — marketplaces often require minimum dimensions like 1000×1000 px.
  • Logos & graphics — enlarge a small PNG logo for a banner or presentation.
  • Wallpapers — stretch an image to fit a larger screen without it turning to mush.

Upscaling and File Size

Enlarging multiplies pixel count by the square of the factor — a 4× upscale contains 16× more pixels, so expect a much larger file. If the result needs to fit an upload limit, run it through our JPG compressor or compress to 100 KB tool afterwards. Need the opposite direction? The image resizer handles precise downscaling.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes — AI mode runs an ESRGAN super-resolution neural network directly in your browser via TensorFlow.js. It genuinely reconstructs detail rather than just interpolating. Fast mode uses classical progressive scaling with sharpening, which is instant but doesn't invent new detail.
The neural network processes your image in small patches using your device's own CPU or GPU — there's no server doing the work. That keeps it private but means larger images take much longer, so AI mode is limited to roughly 1400×1400 px input. Use Fast mode for bigger files.
Only partially. Upscaling can't recover detail that was never captured, so an out-of-focus or motion-blurred photo stays blurry. It works best on images that are small but sharp — enlarging them to a usable size.
No. Both engines run entirely inside your browser. Unlike most AI upscaling websites, which upload your photos to their servers for processing, your images never leave your device here.
Up to 8× in one pass. Practically, 2×–4× gives the best-looking results; beyond that, even AI reconstruction starts to look artificial. For large enlargements, upscale 2× twice rather than jumping straight to 8×.
